Our waist beads are all handmade the traditional way with durable cotton strings in order to serve the purpose of weight management the proper way.
Can I wear them as a non african?

Yes of course! We've served women from all backgrounds and love to see them appreciating our culture.

What we don't accept is culture appropriation.
Do they have clasps?

No they don't. This is because they are meant to be tied exactly where you wish on your waist and also clasps can easily break or be damaged.

Absolutely beautiful beads. The photos do not do them justice! I always wanted some and was offered some in Ghana but always felt my belly was too big for them. I kept looking and found Kentell. I felt like a Queen as soon as I put them on. My first ones broke after a few months (I don't think I tied them correctly). I felt so unfeminine and just not right without them. I ordered more but didn't think I'd get them before Xmas but they came very fast. I feel like a Queen again! They're beautiful and very well made. 💖
